A flexible production line designed to ensure continuous improvements in productivity

The product cycle for consumer electronics continues to accelerate. When each change in this cycle requires upgrades to manufacturing equipment, significant losses can result. For this reason, we introduced our original Funai Production System to respond flexibly to such changes and implement day-to-day improvements; it is designed to accommodate almost unlimited increases in productivity. For example, our production line is divided into manual-labor segments and mechanized segments, which allows unrestricted product-specific control of the production line. Moreover, we can intentionally increase the workload on the production line by, for example, reducing the number of workers on the line or increasing the conveyor speed; this enables us to discover potential problems and solve them in advance. With this approach, we can implement ongoing productivity improvements in the system.
